Kyle Walker responds emotionally after Man City exit announcement
Kyle Walker gave an emotional reaction after Man City announced the departure of a long-serving player on social media.
The 35-year-old right-back joined the Sky Blues in 2017 from Premier League rivals Tottenham for £50million [Sky Sports].
The England international made 319 appearances for City, becoming captain of the club, before Walker then joined AC Milan on loan in January.
The deal was understood to have a £4.2million (€5m) buy-clause, according to Sky Sports.
Massimiliano Allegri’s arrival as manager makes it unclear whether Milan will exercise their option to buy Walker.

The England international left in acrimonious circumstances in January and it seems unlikely he will play for the Sky Blues again.
Stefan Borson revealed exclusively to Football Insider that City will have no issues selling Walker upon his return to the club, in spite of his high wages.
Whilst the ex-Tottenham man’s future is uncertain, the same cannot be said for another long-serving player of the club, who will be leaving this summer.
Scott Carson leaving Man City after six seasons
City announced on their Instagram that Scott Carson would be leaving the club in a post captioned: “After six seasons with the Club, Scott Carson will leave Manchester City when his contract expires this summer.
“We would like to thank Scott for his hard work and dedication and wish him the very best of luck for the future”.
The long-serving backup is a popular figure within the club, and Walker responded to the post by commenting: “One of a kind”.
Man City target Chelsea’s Marcus Bettinelli as Scott Carson replacement
Football Insider Verdict
According to The Telegraph, City are targeting Chelsea backup Marcus Bettinelli to replace Carson.
The former Fulham shot-stopper has been targeted as the “right profile to support a goalkeeper stable led by Ederson”.
City are hoping to conclude a deal before the transfer window shuts on 10 June in time for the Englishman to be a part of the club’s Club World Cup campaign.
Bettinelli would be replacing City’s former back-up in the role of a pseudo-coach and support for Ederson on the training ground.
Given the Premier League’s rules around homegrown players, Carson played an important role in allowing the Sky Blues to register foreign players.
What’s more, the former West Brom shot-stopper was regarded as an influential character off the pitch, and Bettinelli has been much the same during his time with the Blues.
