Kyle Walker sends message to Man City fans after fall-out

Man City defender Kyle Walker has taken to social media to celebrate “a win we all needed” after beating Leicester City on Sunday (December 29).

The 34-year-old replaced an injured Nathan Ake in the 70th minute to help see out a much-needed win for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Savinho opened the scoring in the 21st minute with his first goal for the club since joining from fellow City Group club Troyes in the summer.

Erling Haaland then got in on the act, doubling their lead in the 74th minute and securing a valuable three points for the visitors.

The current champions have endured their worst run of form since the Spaniard took back in 2016 winning two, drawing three, and losing eight of their last 13 games across all competitions.

Kyle Walker thankful for support despite fractured relationship with Man City fans

The right-back has been in and out of the Man City side so far this season, starting 11 of his 17 games across all competitions and failing to make a single goal contribution in his 1130 minutes of action.

Walker has been on the receiving end of some harsh words from Man City fans this season, recently calling out supporters for sending him racist messages.

Man City are back to winning ways now, and Walker took to Instagram to thank the fans for their ongoing support through a tumultuous 2024, saying: “A win we all needed. Thanks for the support as always from start to finish you were class.”

City’s win over Leicester sees them climb into fifth, four points behind Chelsea in fourth having played one more game than the West London club.

Guardiola’s side will no doubt be hoping to start 2025 with a bang as they prepare to host strugglers West Ham in their first game of the new year.
