Lampard: Tottenham 23-year-old is a self-made talent

By Dominic Toner

Frank Lampard believes that Tottenham ace Harry Kane has put the hard work in off the pitch to become a top player.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Spurs’ most crucial players and has enjoyed a phenomenal rise since graduating through their academy.

He has continued his form this season and has scored 26 goals in just 33 appearances.

Chelsea legend Lampard was known for his incredible work-rate on the training ground that helped mould him into a club icon.

He believes that Kane is a self-made talent and also works incredibly hard behind the scenes to improve his game.

“I think he is a very talented player but is also self-made,” Lampard told the Nissan Super Sunday Programme on Sky Sports One. “He has got the lot. I see everything, he seems a bit of a leader in the team.”

Kane enjoyed several loan spells in the lower leagues as a youngster before he broke into the first team.

The forward is now leading the line for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and is one of the most feared players in the Premier League.

Lampard also alluded to Kane’s influence in the dressing room and he has stepped in to captain the side this season when Hugo Lloris has been absent.

Several Spurs fans believe the England international can be a future full-time captain at White Hart Lane and it appears to be a role he would relish.

In other Tottenham news, Sol Campbell claims this player is destined for great things.
