Largie Ramazani: Everton plot surprise raid – O’Rourke
Everton are plotting a shock move to sign Almeria striker Largie Ramazani before the transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Spanish second-tier club will be forced to cash in on the forward before the transfer window closes after their relegation last season.
The Toffees have prioritised the signing of a new striker in the closing stages of the transfer window, but they are being dictated by a limited budget.
Ramazani has entered the final year of his contract at Almeria and already has experience of English football after coming through the academy at Man United.
This has placed him high on the list of available options at Goodison Park, with the Toffees now weighing up an official bid for the striker.
Everton line up move to sign new striker before transfer deadline
Ramazani left the Man United academy to join Almeria on a free transfer in 2020, and has since made 127 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals.
Last season, he found the net just four times in 31 games across all competitions, providing five assists and he alternated between playing as a striker and a winger.
However, Everton’s recruitment team have been alerted by his availability, with his ability to play out wide seen as a bonus.
The Toffees finished last season with just 40 goals from 38 league games – the division’s second-lowest scoring team behind Sheffield United.
Between Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto, the club’s main forward options found the net just 14 times in a combined 77 games, leaving Sean Dyche in desperate need of a clinical striker.

The club have looked to increase the quality throughout Dyche’s team to increase their attacking threat, with the signings of Jesper Lindstrom and Iliman Ndiaye already completed.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 30 July that Everton are braced to receive late offers for Calvert-Lewin amid interest from Newcastle.
