Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has been linked with many clubs in the last year, with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid the latest to be credited with an interest.
BBC Sport reported that the La Liga side are set to send scouts to watch the 20-year-old in Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final versus Motherwell before deciding on making a bid for the player.
Even though Tierney is an excellent player, the latest rumour does seem a tad unrealistic, as he isn’t that good a player yet to hold down a place in one of the best teams in Europe.
That doesn’t mean that there won’t be bids for the Celtic fan favourite in the summer, it wouldn’t be a shock at all if Bournemouth made a move for the player. as the Daily Mail recently reported that the Premier League side are willing to pay £20million for the left-back.
Would the Hoops board accept such a huge deal for the player? It is unlikely, mainly due to the reaction it would get from the support who would be up in arms if the talisman of the side was sold at this moment in time.
But if the Hoops fail to qualify for the Champions League, then they might have a decision to make, but for the moment it seems that Tierney will be with his childhood club for at least another season.
In other Celtic news, it’s no surprise that a player is leaving the Hoops
