Lawrence Shankland ‘wants to join’ Rangers ‘from what I hear’ – pundit
Rangers have been backed to go “all out” for Lawrence Shankland before the transfer deadline.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic star Frank McAvennie questioned the Gers’ potential transfer plans as “they’ve not got the money.”
Philippe Clement has been open about the fact they must sell players to finance any transfers this summer.
Those financial woes have made it difficult for the Gers to secure major deals, such as Shankland.
Rangers should aim for Lawrence Shankland over Lennon Miller
Football Insider revealed the Gers have also been monitoring Motherwell’s Lennon Miller.
Even though the teenager could be seen as a cheaper alternative to Shankland, the experience that the latter brings could be worth pursuing.
“They’ve not got the money,” McAvennie told Football Insider about Rangers’ finances.
“They’re talking about Shankland, and they’ve not got the money for him.
“If they’ve not got the money for Shankland then they’ve not got the money for the young boy, I wouldn’t imagine.

“Rangers absolutely must go all out for Shankland, pay what it takes, because he’ll score goals. From what I’m hearing, he wants to join, as well.
“Looking now at the team, where are the goals going to come from?”
