‘Laziest player I’ve seen’, ‘Shocking’ – Leeds fans destroy Djed Spence after 1-1 v Coventry

Leeds United fans have savaged Djed Spence after his “shocking” performance against Coventry City on Saturday (16 December).

The Whites dropped points for the second consecutive game in the 1-1 draw at Elland Road after Crysencio Summerville’s cooly-taken opener was cancelled out just minutes later by Bobby Thomas’ strike.

Daniel Farke handed Spence his second start after missing the majority of the season through injury and opted to once again play him at left-back rather than his preferred right-back role.

However, the Elland Road faithful were far from impressed with the Englishman’s outing and were highly critical of his defensive capabilities and work rate.

They have taken to social media in a fury to slam the 23-year-old, and some fans feel that he is not the answer at the back.

One supporter was frustrated with Leeds’ repeat defensive lapses and bashed the “awful” play from Spence and his teammates.

This fan was annoyed that Spence’s “static” decision-making kills any potential attacking threat for the Whites.

One fan has been let down by his performances so far considering the reputation he had garnered before his summer loan move.

This supporter made his feelings very clear.

One fan is yet to be convinced about the full-back and questioned his commitment.

This fan put the blame on the draw solely on Spence.

One supporter suggested to Spence that there is always a place in League Two if he doesn’t fancy the Championship.

This fan claimed Spence is an all-timer for Leeds, but not for a reason he’d be pleased with.
