Leandro Trossard posts two-word response after Arsenal fans destroy him

Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard broke his silence on social media amid speculation surrounding his future at the Emirates Stadium.

Trossard is now into the final year of his current deal, and negotiations over a new contract have reportedly stalled.

The Belgian played an important role for Mikel Arteta last season, largely in a rotational capacity, but still managed to rack up 56 appearances across all competitions, contributing to 20 goals and assists in total.

Despite his impact, it still hasn’t impressed fans as Arsenal supporters have called for the club to sell Trossard this summer, after it emerged that several clubs from across Europe and Saudi Arabia are monitoring his situation.

Now, Trossard has responded indirectly to the growing speculation, posting an update on Instagram in the midst of the transfer noise.

Leandro Trossard ready for pre-season amid Arsenal exit rumours

The 30-year-old shared a series of Instagram posts featuring holiday photos and time spent with family, alongside a cryptic caption that read: “Batteries charged.”

The post drew plenty of reaction from his teammates, with Bukayo Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly and David Raya all liking the update.

Former Brighton teammate Moises Caicedo also engaged with the post, as did Belgian compatriots Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans.

Back in May, Football Insider reported that Trossard was in advanced talks to extend his contract at the Emirates. However, since then, negotiations appear to have stalled, with growing talk of a potential summer exit.

Adding to the uncertainty, Trossard has recently changed agents, which could be seen as a sign that the player is preparing for movement in the market.

Despite the speculation, he remains a valuable contributor, having delivered 10 goals and 10 assists in 56 appearances last season across all competitions.

Arsenal make transfer decision on Gabriel Martinelli

Martinelli has been linked with an Arsenal exit.

With Arsenal expected to sign a new winger this summer, both Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard have faced questions over their futures. But the club may now have made their position clear, for at least on one of them.

Football Insider revealed Arsenal are unlikely to sell Martinelli in this window, despite interest from Bayern Munich and continued monitoring from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

That decision could offer another clue regarding Trossard’s future. If contract talks remain unresolved, the club may be more inclined to move on from the Belgian rather than the Brazilian.
