Leandro Trossard reacts to Kai Havertz’s message after Arsenal contract decision

Leandro Trossard has reacted to teammate Kai Havertz’s recent social media post, amid news that Arsenal have made a decision on the Belgian’s future at the club.

Since joining from Brighton in January 2023, Trossard has been a vital part of Mikel Arteta’s squad, often coming off the bench to make big contributions for the Gunners.

The 30-year-old scored eight Premier League goals and picked up seven assists, as he helped the North London side to a third consecutive second-place finish on the spin.

It was a trophyless season for the forward though, as Arsenal were beaten by PSG in the Champions League semi-final, while exiting the League Cup at the same stage.

Arsenal make Trossard contract decision

Earlier this month, Football Insider exclusively reported that Arsenal are in advanced talks with Trossard over a new four-year contract.

The winger is entering the final year of his current deal, and the Gunners are keen to reward his efforts by extending his stay at the Emirates.

It is thought that an announcement is imminent, with talks between the relevant parties advancing well, and both sides are confident that an agreement can be struck.

Trossard’s teammate Havertz recently took to social media to give fans an insight into his life away from football.

The German posted a number of photos on Instagram, showing himself enjoying the off-season on the beach with his family, and Trossard liked the post to show his appreciation.

Arsenal to decide between Sesko and Gyokeres

Football Insider Verdict

Both Havertz and Trossard were utilised in the centre forward position by Arteta last season, but to make a proper challenge for the title, the Gunners need a proven goalscorer at their disposal.

Arsenal are targeting Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon to fill their number nine void, after the former Coventry man had an impressive season in Portugal.

The Swedish international managed 39 goals in 33 games, as Sporting pipped Benfica to the league title by just two points.

Benjamin Sesko is another man on Arsenal’s radar, and it’s believed that the North London side are in advanced talks with the RB Leipzig man.

The Gunners are likely to complete the framework of both deals, before making a final decision on who will lead the line for Arteta’s side next season.
