‘Leandro Trossard to be sold’ – Arsenal fans react to journalist’s update

Arsenal fans have called for the club to cash in on Leandro Trossard after the latest update on the Belgian’s uncertain future.

Trossard is entering the final year of his current contract at the Emirates, with no agreement in place for an extension.

Despite his contract situation, the 30-year-old played an important role for Mikel Arteta’s side last season, though often used in rotation rather than as a regular starter.

Football Insider reported back in May that Arsenal were in advanced talks to extend Trossard’s stay, but negotiations appear to have stalled in recent weeks.

Adding to the uncertainty, Trossard recently changed agents — a move that has sparked further speculation over his future and whether he is considering options elsewhere.

Following another developments, some supporters have urged the club to take advantage of his market value now and sell the forward.

Arsenal face Saudi and European interest in Leandro Trossard

Ryan Taylor of the Daily Mirror reported on 4 July that while Trossard’s recent change of agency is not believed to be “directly linked” to his Arsenal future, talks over a pay rise have stalled.

Taylor added that there remains “active” interest from Saudi clubs dating back to last year, while “tentative enquiries” have also been made by clubs in Italy and Turkey regarding a potential transfer.

Football Insider previously revealed that Al-Ittihad submitted an offer for Trossard last year, but the bid was made after the Premier League transfer deadline, meaning Arsenal wouldn’t have been able to secure a replacement.

It remains to be seen whether the Saudi giants will reignite their interest this summer, especially with Arsenal’s stance possibly evolving given the winger’s contract situation.

Despite the uncertainty, Trossard has continued to play a key role under Mikel Arteta. The Belgian registered 10 goals and 10 assists across 56 appearances last season, underlining his influence as part of the squad.

Arsenal fans call for Trossard sale amid winger search

The Gunners are expected to add wide options to their squad this window, which could push Trossard further down the pecking order if new arrivals come in.

Football Insider revealed Arsenal remain interested in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, whose future remains uncertain after being left out for three consecutive games.

Following the latest developments regarding Trossard, many Arsenal supporters have voiced their belief that now is the right time to sell.

One fan commented: “Yes, right time to sell now… no need to raise [his] salary” while another echoed the sentiment, adding: “Sell the player and go get new winger!”.
