‘Least talented player I’ve seen in my life’ – Celtic fans demolish Daizen Maeda after latest display

Celtic fans have demolished Daizen Maeda for his “honking” performance against Livingston on Saturday (23 December).

After recently returning from a knee injury he picked up last month, the Japanese international put out a lacklustre display at Parkhead in the 2-0 win.

He managed just 16 passes, three wasteful shots and no key passes before being hauled off just after the hour mark.

The 26-year-old has underperformed for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season and has mustered just two goals and two assists in the league from the wings.

The Hoops got back to winning ways against the Lions after consecutive league defeats courtesy of Kyogo Furuhashi’s and Liam Scales’ goals, but Maeda may as well of stayed at home having made negligible impact.

He struggled to get past his opponents and lacked the cutting edge that has endeared him to the Celtic Park faithful since his loan move was made permanent in 2021 for a reported £1.6million.

Fans have taken to social media to criticise the misfiring forward, who was blasted for missing great opportunities and stinking the place out.
