Leeds and Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to humiliating Reading defeat
By Amir Mir
Reading were beaten 7-1 away at Norwich on Saturday afternoon – and Leeds and Aston Villa fans on Twitter have mocked the promotion hopefuls.
Jaap Stam’s side conceded six first-half goals as their hopes of securing a top-six finish at the end of the campaign took a big blow at the managerless side.
Whilst the Royals were being beaten by Norwich, Leeds recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Preston North End to get their promotion hopes back on track after back-to-back defeats.
The Whites remain fifth in the table after that result, one place and one point behind Reading, who now have a -1 goal difference – a big difference compared to their rivals.
Former Manchester United defender Stam has branded his football style at the Madjeski Stadium on possession as the Dutchman was mocked by Villa and Leeds supporters.

They were asking how much possession they had during that humiliating defeat as they have suffered their biggest loss of the campaign.
Steve Bruce’s side, who recorded a 1-1 draw at Burton Albion on the same day, will welcome Reading to Villa Park next Saturday.
Performances such as the one at Carrow Road could potentially see Reading fall out of the top six with five matches of the season remaining.
Overall, both Leeds and Villa supporters couldn’t help but laugh at Stam’s side after their shocking display away from home in the Championship.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
