Leeds are in 'trouble' after inside source's reveal in last 24 hours - pundit

Under-pressure Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is “making it easy” for opponents with his “man-to-man” tactics, according to Alan Hutton.

The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 66-year-old is “very stubborn”.

Leeds United have won just one of their last eight Premier League fixtures, conceding 14 goals in their last three top-flight games.

Football Insider revealed yesterday (21 December) that Bielsa is under growing pressure to keep his job and could be sacked as early as next month if results don’t improve.

Hutton urged the Argentine to “change his ways” or risk putting Leeds United into relegation danger.

“The problem with Bielsa is that he won’t change his style, he’s very stubborn,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“It’s really not working at the moment. I get that they’re missing a lot of their best players. Bamford, Phillips, a lot of their best defenders have been out – but when you play against the top teams, they want you to play like Leeds United do. It makes it easy for them when you play man-to-man.

“They want you to move out of spaces so they can hurt you in behind. But Bielsa doesn’t change for anybody. They’ve shipped so many goals, 14 in the last three games – that doesn’t work.

“If he doesn’t change his ways or get his top players back quickly, they’re in trouble. Teams around them have got games in hand, and they just haven’t built up enough of a buffer to that relegation zone.”

Leeds United take on Liverpool on Boxing Day.

Five points separate the Whites with 18th-place Burnley, who have three games in hand.
