Leeds are now nervously looking over their shoulders at seventh-placed Fulham, who are desperately trying to break into the top six.
Monk’s side have a five-point cushion inside the play-offs, but back-to-back losses have meant concerns have begun to creep in.
They have suffered defeats to Brentford and Reading in the past week, and now turn their attention to eight-placed Preston.
The Whites managed to be Preston 4-1 in the reverse fixtures this season at Deepdale and would love a repeat performance.
Leeds now have just six league matches remaining to book their place in the end of season play-offs and will be targeting maximum points against Preston, with a trip to high flying Newcastle in their following match.
