Leeds could be set for 'big, big blow' after Raphinha injury latest from expert - pundit

Kevin Campbell fears Leeds United are set to receive “a big, big blow” after the latest on Raphinha’s fitness.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker claimed the 24-year-old has been Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s “main man” this season.

Raphinha was forced off through injury for the second game running on Saturday as Leeds slipped to a 2-1 defeat to West Ham at Elland Road.

The course of the game changed when the winger, who scored the game’s opener, was replaced by Tyler Roberts after 69 minutes.

Speaking to Leeds Live, Bielsa revealed Raphinha was withdrawn because he was still struggling with a knock suffered at Newcastle United.

According to Premier Injuries, the website of new Football Insider injury specialist Ben Dinnery, Raphinha has a 75 per cent chance of being passed fit to face Watford on Saturday.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Raphinha’s troubles, Campbell said:

“He’s been there main man this season, even more so than Kalvin Phillips I’d say. He has constantly looked dangerous and has got a couple of goals as well.

“To lose him would be a big, big blow, it really would. It is going to be really difficult for Leeds if he joins the growing list of injured players there.

“The games come thick and fast. You want your team on the up going into the winter period and Leeds aren’t on the up right now. It really is tough times for them right now.”

In other news, a pundit has been left worried by what he saw in Leeds United’s dugout and points the finger at Victor Orta.
