Leeds could seal £23m Raphinha profit after source update – Phillips
Kevin Phillips has claimed Leeds United winger Raphinha’s value has rocketed to at least £40million this season.
The 2000 European Golden Shoe winner, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old’s exploits with Brazil will have added to his value.
Raphinha registered two goals and two assists across three appearances for the Selecao in this month’s international break, announcing himself in style to his homeland.
Earlier this month (October 13th), a Leeds source told Football Insider that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Illan Meslier.
The winger joined the Whites in a reported £17million move from Rennes last summer.
Leeds United were handed an injury scare during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Wolves.
Raphinha limped off early in the second-half following a reckless challenge from Romain Saiss, but has since taken to Instagram to confirm it was “nothing serious”.
Phillips insisted Leeds United will be expecting big-money bids for their star winger if he continues his form for club and country.
“He’s a Brazil international now, that adds value,” he told Football Insider.
“You’ve got to be talking £40million plus, Leeds certainly wouldn’t expect to receive offers of anything less than that.
“If he finishes the season strongly, and gets more international caps under his belt you would have to expect bids for around that amount.
“He just needs to take that form he found away with Brazil and use it to help Leeds get away from the bottom of the league.”

Raphinha has netted nine times in 39 appearances for Leeds United.
The winger has scored three in eight league games this term as the Whites struggle in the Premier League.
