Leeds decide on Jayden Bogle sale as Everton come knocking for January deal

Leeds United have no plans to lose Jayden Bogle in the January transfer window despite growing interest thanks to his Premier League displays.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 25-year-old remains a crucial part of Daniel Farke‘s plans.

The right-back is under contract at Elland Road until 2028, and has started every Premier League game so far this season, establishing himself as a key player.

Football Insider revealed on 20 December that Everton are interested in signing Bogle as David Moyes looks to strengthen his squad at right-back.

However, Leeds will not entertain options for any of their key players in the mid-season window amid their ongoing relegation battle.

Leeds United to reject Jayden Bogle offers

Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds will look to strengthen in January as they eye key areas of the squad to improve when the window opens.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Leeds have no plans to weaken the squad and will work to keep hold of their best players.

Leeds want to keep hold of Bogle,” he told Football Insider.

“It’s true that he has stepped up to the plate and been a bit of a surprise package for Leeds since they arrived and got promoted to the Premier League.

“He has consistently been one of their best players, even if lots of people may not have regarded him in that bracket before the season started.

“Bogle gives them impressive performances whenever he’s called upon, and you can’t ask for more than that.

“So with regard to interest from Everton or whoever else might be looking at him, Leeds have got no plans to let him leave in January.

“He’s an important player there, and if they want to achieve survival, they can’t afford to be letting their better players leave the club.”

Everton plot move to sign the next Seamus Coleman

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 19 December that Everton are targeting a new right-back as a priority ahead of the January transfer window.

Jake O’Brien, 24, is the current first-choice right-back and has done a solid job so far this season after taking over the role from club legend Seamus Coleman.

However, Everton want a player with qualities similar to Coleman, who can offer more going forward than O’Brien, who is a centre-back by trade.

Bogle has impressed for Leeds this season and earned high praise for his performances, despite previous concerns about his ability to step up to the Premier League.

Everton scouts have been placed on alert as a result, and believe he fits the profile of full-back which they would be looking to add to the squad.
