‘Leeds’ decision to offload Max Wober explained amid PSR concerns’
Leeds United’s latest transfer decision has been explained as the club look to avoid running into any PSR problems.
After a two year absence Leeds will return to the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship alongside Burnley and Sunderland.
However, it was revealed by Football Insider that the club may face PSR issues upon their top flight return due to promotion bonuses and potential survival bonuses.
Leeds have previously been close to breaching PSR rules before they sold Archie Gray to Tottenham a year ago.

PSR considered as Wober loaned to the Bundesliga
Journalist Joe Donnohue took to X (July 4) to explain the club’s latest decision to loan defender Max Wober to Werder Bremen instead of selling him.
Donnohue posted that “selling Wober this summer at a price below £5million would see the club report a loss on their 2025/26 accounts, due to player amortisation costs.”
Under the Premier League’s PSR rules, club’s can lose up to £150m over a rolling three year period.
Wober joined the Yorkshire club in January 2023 from Austrian side RB Salzburg.
The 28-year-old only made 28 appearances for the club and is not seen in Daniel Farke’s plans for next season.

Leeds spending in the market despite PSR tightrope
Football Insider verdict
Leeds are one of many Premier League clubs critically analysing every move to ensure they stay within PSR rules.
Newcastle were forced to sell duo Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh to Nottingham Forest and Brighton to avoid a PSR breach, whilst Aston Villa and Chelsea have both resorted to selling their women’s team.
The Whites are pushing ahead with plans to expand Elland Road to generate greater revenue.
Farke though will still have up to £150m to spend this summer as exclusively revealed by Football Insider.
The German has already signed Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer and bought in defensive duo Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw.
More business looks set to be done with rumours linking Manor Solomon with a return after his loan spell last season.
Josh Sargent and Robin Zentner have also been recently linked, as the club tries to ensure it doesn’t follow the same fate of promoted club’s over the past two seasons.
