‘Leeds face race against time in pursuit of Tottenham’s Manor Solomon’
Leeds United could face missing out on Tottenham’s Manor Solomon as they face a race against time to sign the forward amid interest from another Premier League club.
Solomon joined Leeds on loan last season from Spurs and was a star performer as the Whites secured a return to the Premier League after two seasons away.
Manager Daniel Farke is keen to keep the 25-year-old at Elland Road after his 10 goals and 12 assists were crucial in beating Burnley to the Championship title on goal difference.
Farke has already strengthened his attack with the addition of Lukas Nmecha from Wolfsburg on a free transfer.
However, Farke may need to move quickly if he wants to add Solomon to his squad next season with another suitor interested in his services.
Burnley and Leeds to renew rivalry
As exclusively revealed by Mick Brown (17 June), the former Tottenham and Manchester United scout has told Football Insider that Burnley are also keeping an eye on Solomon’s situation at Spurs.
The two clubs will therefore go head to head again after their thrilling Championship title race last season went down to the final day.
Boss Scott Parker, a former midfielder at the North London club, is also looking at strengthening his forward line having already signed winger Jaidon Anthony from Bournemouth.
Despite promotion and a second placed finish in the Championship last season, the Clarets scored 26 goals less than Leeds.
Solomon has experience in the Premier League having made 19 appearances for Fulham in the 2022/23 season, scoring four goals for the Cottagers.

Attacking reinforcements required ahead of Premier League return
After all three promoted side were immediately relegated from the Premier League last season, Leeds and Burnley are hoping not to face the same outcome.
Keeping hold of Solomon has been seen as a priority for Leeds since the Championship season concluded.
The Israel international was unable to showcase his ability at Spurs due to a knee injury which ended his 2023/24 season.
His contributions at Fulham and Leeds though have demonstrated his quality and attacking firepower which will certainly be required if either side stand a chance of avoiding an immediate return to the second tier.
It has been a difficult transfer window for Burnley so far though following the departure of CJ Egan-Riley on a free and interest in number one James Trafford, but pipping Leeds to the signing of Solomon would be a coup.
