Leeds fans all say the same thing about Emi Buendia signing after Sky update

Leeds United fans believe they have missed out on signing Aston Villa’s Emi Buendia following a new report on his future.

According to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, Bayer Leverkusen are continuing to work on a move for the 28-year-old and new talks took place yesterday with the Leeds target.

Buendia is believed to be high on Leverkusen’s list and the attacking midfielder is open to joining Xabi Alonso this month, which could make a deal with the Yorkshire giants difficult to complete.

Industry insider Mick Brown had exclusively confirmed to Football Insider in December that Unai Emery is willing to let Buendia leave this month, while revealing that Leeds remain interested in him.

The Championship side had attempted to sign the midfielder during the summer transfer window but were ultimately unsuccessful in their pursuit.

The Argentina international has made 11 appearances for Villa this season in the Premier League but could be in pursuit of more regular game time with a move this month.

Leeds fans are frustrated with the Emi Buendia development

The latest report about Buendia’s future has left fans believing that they will struggle to sign him this month.

However, others remain optimistic that the possibility of Premier League football next season could still convince him with the club currently top of the Championship.

Surely we just do an obligation to buy situation, cover his wages in full and just take the hit for 4 months. Buendia gets guaranteed minutes with a manger he knows, knowing he will be in PL again next year no matter what. Its unlikely, he's far too good but that's the best bet
