Leeds fans are all saying the same thing about Ao Tanaka after confirmed news
Leeds United supporters have encouraged Ao Tanaka to take the opportunity to fill Ethan Ampadu’s boots after the club captain was ruled out for 10 weeks.
Daniel Farke confirmed during a recent press conference that the Wales international will be missing for the rest of the year due to a serious knee injury, which will force a change to his starting lineup.
The Whites boss has started Ampadu in every Championship fixture this season, but Leeds fans are backing Tanaka to replace him during this period.
The 26-year-old came on for Ampadu during the 3-0 win against Coventry when he initially suffered his knee injury and proved he could fill the gap.
The Japan international signed a four-year deal at Elland Road in the summer transfer window but has yet to start a league game.
Tanaka has been restricted to cameo appearances until the Coventry fixture, but with Ampadu’s injury that could be set to change.
Leeds fans believe they will be stronger offensively with Ao Tanaka
However, they now see this as a “huge” opportunity for Tanaka to showcase what he can do with regular game time.
