Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has made the position his own since taking over from Felix Wiedwald in between the sticks.
So much so, that when supporters were asked whether the 21-year-old should be the club’s number one stopper going forward, the response was resoundingly in favour of seeing the newcomer remain as the final line of defence.
After coming through the youth setup, the stopper has already reproduced a number of man of the match displays and hasn’t had an easy time coming into the side at a period when the players have been struggling to meet supporters expectations.
And having picked up just 12 points since Boxing Day, a result of which saw the sacking of Thomas Christiansen, they have continued to go into free fall ever since.
Defensively, the Whites have been all at sea too, which hasn’t made it easy on the young stopper in the eight appearances he has totalled so far.
But he has handled the pressure with aplomb and hasn’t looked an inch out of place amongst some of the most experienced senior pros.
This has meant that the Darlington-born stopper has been an instant hit and supporters want to see him in goal for the Whites next season.
Here is a selection of fan reactions to Peacock-Farrell on Twitter:
He’s been fantastic. Only worry for him is playing 46 games behind this car crash of a defence. Can’t do much good for his confidence. The defence is so bad it’s quite spectacular to watch

I can only judge him on the performances I've seen since the Wolves game and I'm yet to find any reason why he shouldn't be out number 1. Commands his box very well, distribution is good and he seems to have a really good attitude. Fully deserves a chance.

Age doesn't matter, if he's good enough he's good enough

How old Robbo when he came in? Played champions league and prem games and was good enough. No difference between both of them.

Yes from me and build the team around our youngsters with some quality players alongside them

Absolutely, the shirt should be his until/If his form drops sufficiently enough to say otherwise.
He's been near faultless since he came in. His tendency to punch or parry is my only concern about him. Need to work on that and can become a very good GK.

Agreed, I think he is taught to punch and parry by our GK set up though tbf

Look at the last time we dropped a decent keep for a new 1 we ended up with the worst German keeper ever
