'Get him signed', 'Player of the season' - Leeds fans demand wide man handed new contract
By Richard Parks
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter calling on the club’s hierarchy to tie Pablo Hernandez to a new contract.
The Spanish attacking midfielder, who has been used almost exclusively on the left flank this season, has been one of the team’s most consistent performers in a disjointed season.
Hernandez, 32, once again demonstrated his calibre with his integral role in Leeds’ comeback draw against Bristol City on Sunday, supplying one assist and helping create the other of his side’s goals in the 2-2 draw at Elland Road.
The former Spain international has scored six goals and supplied eight assists from 32 matches in all competitions in what is his second season at the club.
Hernandez is out of contract at the end of the season after signing permanently from Qatari club Al-Arabi in January of last year.
United fans on social media are calling for the club’s top brass to waste no time in securing the player to a new deal.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Social media is a powerful tool & that’s already been a lot of noise regarding Pablo & signing him up to a new contract. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re heard something to that effect soon ????

I’d be surprised if the contract didn’t auto-renew after X number of games, much like the previous deal. Pablo will stay, I reckon.

Pablo out of contract next year. We HAVE to give him another year, even at his age. Been player of the season so far.
