'Light years ahead', 'Immense' - Leeds fans blown away by senior player for display v Derby
Leeds United fans on Twitter were blown away by the performance of Adam Forshaw in the 2-2 draw with Derby County at Pride Park on Wednesday night.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Ezgjan Alioski were both on target for the Whites but Andreas Weimann and Kasey Palmer were able to help the hosts ensure that the Whites’ wait for a first win under Paul Heckingbottom continued.
Forshaw, 26, has wasted no time in impressing the Leeds supporters after signing from Championship rivals Middlesbrough during the January transfer window.
The midfielder was in top form against the Rams on Wednesday in what was quite an underwhelming performance overall by Paul Heckingbottom’s men.
Forshaw was a cool, composed presence in the Whites midfield, contributing to both the attacking and defensive phases of play.
Leeds fans were very impressed with the midfielder, with one saying he’s “light years” ahead of his team-mates.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
He's looked poor to me. Conceded 10 in 3 home games with him in the side. O'Kane hides, and only looks good against poor opposition. Forshaw is light years ahead as a championship midfielder.

Really like watching Forshaw despite a few missed place passes first half, presses the ball well off the balls, looks calm on it! Looks a solid midfielder alongside Viera

Forshaw been at the club 2 mins yet he’s head & shoulders above anyone else

It's wonderful having Forshaw, even if he looks uncannily like a FIFA regen of Garry Monk.

Forshaw has been immense I think. But yeah I agree.

Forshaw has been a class act since joining. Lonergan has to start the next game Wiedwald just doesn’t fill you with confidence at all. Doesn’t command his area and just flaps at any sort of cross. Not good enough don’t look like a team that wants the playoffs #lufc

Forshaw has been fantastic in my eyes but would agree with the rest

Vieira and De Bock have been the poorest for me. Forshaw has started class again! #lufc

Forshaw has made five appearances in all competitions since signing for Leeds from Middlesbrough last month.
The 26-year-old had fell well down the pecking order under Tony Pulis’ regime at the Riverside and was omitted from six matchday squads in a row in the Championship before leaving for Elland Road.
However the senior player’s form with Leeds appears to prove the Boro have dropped a clanger by letting him leave, especially to a team who they are closely rivalling in the Championship standings.
In other Leeds United news, this summer signing has confirmed that he has jetted out to the Middle East.
