Leeds United fans on Twitter have called for Ezgjan Alioski to be recalled to the starting line-up for Tuesday’s Championship clash against Birmingham.
The attacking midfielder was surprisingly axed from the team for Saturday’s 5-0 demolition of Burton Albion despite scoring in the 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest immediately prior to the international break.
Manager Thomas Christiansen gave the nod to trio Pablo Hernandez, Samuel Saiz and Kemar Roofe at the weekend as he reshaped his side to make room for new striker signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
Christiansen’s selection paid immediate dividends as Leeds went five goals clear after an hour and Lasogga scored twice on a memorable debut.
But Alioski, 25, has developed into a fans favourite since joining from Swiss club Lugano this summer.
Supporters admit it would be difficult for Christiansen to change a winning side but would love to see the Montenegro international in the team against Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham.

I think you’ll find this is the best midfield in the Championship: O’Kane, Phillips, Hernadez, Saiz & Alioski #LUFC

Leeds could move to top of the Championship table if they beat Birmingham and leaders Cardiff fail to win at Preston.
The Yorkshire giants have 14 points from their opening six matches, two adrift of Neil Warnock’s early pacesetters.
