Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to call on Paul Heckingbottom to start rookie Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal against Wolves on Wednesday night.
United host the runaway Championship leaders at Elland Road as they aim to bounce back from a wretched run, including last Friday’s 3-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.
One of the main talking points in the aftermath of the Riverside setback was the performance of goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.
The former Werder Bremen man, 27, has made a number of high profile errors this season and was panned by Leeds fans for what they deemed was another inadequate performance.
Ex-Wolves man Andy Lonergan is the number two at Elland Road but he did not convinced when he was given an opportunity in the autumn.
United fans on social media have urged manager Heckingbottom to instead turn to academy product Peacock-Farrell, 21, who has made only one first-team appearance for the club and spent a month of the season on loan at non-league outfit York City.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Why not give BPF a game or two? He’s had some glowing reports. We aren’t going to contend for the play-offs, so let the lad get some experience.

He’s got to be worth a go. FW and lonners certainly not up to it.

Id rather give BPF or this polish keeper we signed few months ago a chance, than persit with either wiedwald or lonergan #lufc

Gave myself time to decide if I was just angry or really thought it to be a good idea. Whichever keeper the club has highest hopes for out of BPF/Huffer/Miazek should get a run in the side. Wiedwald/Lonergan not good enough to be number one. May as well try it. JACK. #lufc #MOT

On Leeds: Think it’s BPF time. If not, why bother employing him? Maybe by simply catching the ball we might turn the tide and beat Wolves. Then quite a few folk might expect some retweets. 😉 These are my thoughts. Brought to you by Twitter. Marvellous isn’t it. #lufc

If its obvious that letting FW go in summer is necessary, Id totally be in favour of giving BPF game time. Probably the position that requires most experience and you can only get it one way. #lufc

Give BPF a chance..
It can’t be any worse that it already is.. #lufc

In other Leeds United news, here are FIVE reasons why Samuel Saiz must be sold this summer – and why it makes perfect sense.
