'My God', 'Looks terrible', 'Shocking' - Leeds fans destroy 20-y/o first-half display in Myanmar
By Richard Parks
Leeds United fans took to Twitter to lay into Jay-Roy Grot for his first-half performance in the team’s friendly against the Myanmar All-Stars on Tuesday.
The striker, 20, was named in an experimental line-up for the controversial clash at the Thuwunna Stadium in oppressive conditions, with the mercury hitting 33C.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom promised beforehand that he would field all 22 players in the squad for the first of two post-season friendlies in Myanmar.
Most of those used in the first half were youngsters, although senior men Samuel Saiz and Andy Lonergan started alongside Grot and the likes of teenagers Sam Dalby.
The Myanmar XI took the lead before Saiz equalised shortly before half-time from the penalty spot.
