Leeds fans fear the writing is on the wall for Samuel Saiz after his display for the Whites in their 2-0 defeat away at Fulham in the Championship on Tuesday night.
The former Getafe attacker showed moments of brilliance as Paul Heckingbottom’s side fell to their 17th defeat in the league this season in West London against the Premier League hopefuls, as they dropped to 13th in the table.
But, the Yorkshire outfit might consider themselves unlucky not to come away with anything from the game.
Despite the Cottagers taking the lead in the 33rd minute through Kevin McDonald’s effort, Leeds came out in the second half looking like they meant business.
Caleb Ekuban should have equalised when he found himself through on goal with only the keeper to beat, but could not find the back of the net.
It was a huge turning point in the game as Fulham countered and Aleksandar Mitrovic gave the Leeds players a lesson in finishing.
Whites winger, Pablo Hernandez, also saw his free-kick go wide of the post late-on while Marcus Bettinelli was stranded in the Fulham goal.
After the game, Whites fans came out on social media to express their concern that Saiz would be gone in the summer.
The Spaniard, along with Pablo Hernandez, has been one of the club’s better performers this season, in what has turned out to be a thoroughly disappointing campaign.
And on Twitter, they Tweeted a number of reactions to the player where they expressed their worry over the player’s future at Elland Road.
Here is what the Leeds faithful had to say:
I’d be stunned if Saiz and Jansson aren’t gone next season…#LUFC

Saiz, Hernandez & Jansson are sick of carrying this 'team' …. be very lucky if they are still here come next season albeit Pablo is out of contract !! #lufc

Why would Saiz, Jansson & even Pablo stay? Knowing they're 2 or 3 passes ahead of everyone else on the team and knowing as soon as you give the ball to one of the other 7 outfield players, you'll be defending. I'd leave if it were me. #lufc
