Leeds fans fume and question why this 24-year-old is not starting Birmingham clash

By Amir Mir

Leeds take on Birmingham City in a Championship clash on Friday night – and fans on Twitter have questioned why Modou Barrow is not starting the match.

Garry Monk’s side travel to the Midlands to take on the Blues looking to continue their march up the Championship table.

Another three points will be valuable for the Whites who are desperate to secure a top six finish come the end of the season.

During the previous encounter at Elland Road, the Blues, managed by then-boss Gary Rowett picked up a 2-1 win in Yorkshire.

Now, former Chelsea player Gianfranco Zola is in charge, but the Italian has found life difficult since replacing Rowett in the St Andrews dugout in December.

The Elland Road faithful, however, were more concerned as to why Barrow was not starting as some fumed at the decision to leave him on the bench.

A couple of fans called for the 24-year-old to be freed so supporters can see what he can offer as they believe his pace can be crucial.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Striker Chris Wood will be looking to pick off from where he left off and add to his 20 goal tally in the Championship this season.

He scored the only goal of the game when the Whites beat promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday last time out.

That goal extended his impressive run in front of goal of late. He has now scored nine goals in his last ten league matches.
