Leeds fans give verdicts on Berardi v Taylor debate ahead of Birmingham clash
By Alex Stevens
Leeds fans have urged Garry Monk to stick with Gaetano Berardi at left-back for Friday’s Championship clash against Birmingham.
Leeds manager Monk faces a selection dilemma as first choice Taylor is set to be available for selection after recovering from an achilles problem that has sidelined him for two-and-a-half months.
Berardi, who is a right-back by trade, has deputised impressively in an unfamiliar position over the last 14 matches as Leeds have continued their promotion charge.
There is a growing debate over which of the pair should be named in the starting XI for the Friday night televised clash at St Andrews.
Leeds supporters have come down strongly in support of Switzerland international Berardi ahead of club academy graduate Taylor.

Would be happy with Taylor at LB if we knew he was happy at the club and he signed a new contract, wouldn’t fix what’s not broken ATM #lufc

No way Taylor should go back in. Berardi has been immense and should be rewarded as such. #lufc

The verdicts of the Leeds faithful appear to have been influenced by the fact that Taylor has failed to agree a new contract with the club.
The 23-year-old, who was named the club’s player of the year last season, is tied to Elland Road only until the end of the season.
There have been widespread reports that Taylor is keen to quit Leeds and join a Premier League club, with Liverpool the latest big hitter to be linked with the left-back.
In other Leeds transfer news, the club are eyeing a stunning triple transfer swoop as three players headed into the training ground.
