Leeds fans lambast ‘absolutely dreadful’ player for what he did vs Man United: ‘He’s a liability’

Leeds United fans have been left frustrated after their team drew 1-1 with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites continued their recent resurgence in the Premier League with a spirited display at Elland Road, but they were unable to make their home advantage count as they failed to find a way past their visitors.

Brenden Aaronson put Leeds ahead in the 62nd minute, but Matheus Cunha’s equaliser just three minutes later quickly restored parity between the pair of bitter rivals.

Daniel Farke’s side have now built up an eight-point buffer between themselves and the relegation zone, but fans were still quick to show their frustration during the game.

Leeds fans rip into Lucas Perri

Lucas Perri has had a difficult time at Leeds since his arrival from Lyon in the summer, and the goalkeeper has looked shaky at times during his opening months in the Premier League.

The Whites shelled out a fee of around £15million to add the Brazilian to their ranks, but he has lacked consistency in the early stages of his time at Elland Road and has frequently made concerning errors.

Perri kept a clean sheet during Sunday’s draw with Manchester United, but his distribution of the ball still left a lot to be desired.

The 28-year-old enjoyed just a 52 per cent success rate with his passes during the game, while just five of his 19 long balls connected with their desired target, according to Fotmob.

Leeds fans took to X to point out the gloveman’s struggles on the ball during the game, as several supporters branded him a “liability” for the lack of quality that he showed.

Another fan labelled him as “absolutely dreadful,” while there was also a suggestion that it is a “matter of time” before Perri’s kicking costs his team points.

Leeds fans have shown their frustration towards Perri before, and many feel that he hasn’t really provided the desired upgrade on the much-maligned Illan Meslier.

The Whites’ new goalkeeper has already had a concerning number of worrying moments so far this term, and that is highlighted by the fact that he currently boasts the lowest save percentage of any Premier League shot-stopper.

Perri has kept out just 58.6 per cent of the shots that he has faced in the league so far this term, and that total puts him below even the likes of Bournemouth’s Djordje Petrovic and Wolves’ Sam Johnstone.

That highlights the level of weakness that he has shown in the opening months of the season, and Farke and Co. may even feel inclined to try and replace him this month as a result.
