Leeds fans lash out at Patrick Bamford after what they spotted
Leeds United fans have lashed out at Patrick Bamford after his performance off the bench in the 3-3 draw against Portsmouth.
In a dramatic end to the clash, Leeds found a 95th-minute equaliser through Brenden Aaronson, before the American failed to convert another chance to win it with seconds remaining.
Aaronson had come on to impact the game from the bench, with Joel Piroe and Bamford also trusted to make the difference and win the game.
Bamford came on as a 79th-minute substitute, but managed to remind Leeds fans why they had grown so frustrated with his displays last season.
His appearance had very little effect on the game as he struggled to link up with his teammates or get into scoring positions, leaving fans raging.
Leeds United fans fume at Patrick Bamford as his career at Elland Road may be done
Bamford had received plenty of stick for his displays last season as he found the net just nine times in 36 appearances across all competitions.
Mateo Joseph’s performances in pre-season earned him a start in the opening Championship clash, but the decision to replace him with the Englishman left supporters baffled.
Following the frustrating result, fans took to social media where they fumed at the striker’s display and his lack of impact from the bench.
Some went as far as to label his career at Elland Road “finished”.
In other news, Leeds fans tear into hero – they are seriously unimpressed.
