'Praise the lord' - Leeds fans lose their minds as fringe player starts v Bristol City

By Danny Wright

Leeds United supporters on Twitter have lost their minds with joy after Ronaldo Vieira was confirmed to earn his first start of the Championship season against Bristol City.

The Whites announced the team news on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off at Ashton Gate on Saturday, where Thomas Christiansen’s side look to avoid their fourth defeat in a row against an in-form Robins.

Christiansen teased fans about Vieira being involved against Bristol City this weekend, but few would have expected the fringe player to start after constantly finding himself on the sidelines, especially in the league.

The 19-year-old was a key part of Garry Monk’s side last season as the Yorkshire giants came close to securing a play-off spot in the Championship, but since the emergence of Eunan O’Kane and Kalvin Phillips in the midfield, Vieira has barely had a look in under Christiansen.

However now, the Dane has decided to switch up his formation that more resembles a 4-3-3 with big names like Pablo Hernandez and Pontus Jansson being axed from the side.

Fans have took few issues with Christiansen’s decision to switch things up though with Leeds in such poor form, and have raved about his call to start Vieira.
