Leeds fans loved what Meslier did as footage re-analysed from new angle
Leeds United fans absolutely loved seeing Illan Meslier pull off a save to deny Norwich City forward Josh Sargent in the first half of their game on Thursday (16 May).
The American international went through on goal after Ethan Ampadu failed to intercept a ball in behind the Whites’ defence.
But Meslier stepped up to deny Sargent from point-blank range to preserve his side’s 2-0 lead at that point in the game.
Leeds would go on to secure a 4-0 victory and book their place in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, with Ilia Gruev, Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville grabbing the goals.
Meslier has come in for some criticism in recent weeks, but the French goalkeeper recorded his 21st clean sheet of the season at Elland Road.
