Leeds fans pinpoint this as the major reason behind shattering form
By Dominic Toner
Leeds’ poor form recently has seen them slip out of the play-off spots – and the club’s supporters believe a lack of January investment is the reason behind it.
The Whites were fourth-placed in the Championship at the end of 2016 and in a great position to secure at least a top-six finish.
Garry Monk was keen to bolster his squad in the January window, but only managed to complete three loan deals.
Pablo Hernandez extended his move until the end of the season, while winger Alfonso Pedraza and Mo Barrow also moved to Elland Road.
The Yorkshire club are now unlikely to finish in the play-off positions and are down in seventh after a shattering run of results.

Leeds have just two victories in their last nine league games and have hit a blip at the worst time of the season.
They will need to win both of their remaining two fixtures and are now relying on the teams above them to drop points.
Leeds fans have pinpointed a lack of activity in the January window as the main reason behind the dip in form, with no freshness in the squad seeing their players get tired.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Not enough goals from the the attacking 3 behind Wood & failure to strengthen the team in January with transfers. #lufc

Two wins in nine matches is poor but not strengthening in January when we needed another striker is coming back to haunt us #MOT

We had a big chance in January and we didn't invest this is the result

The owners let us down, didn't back Monk enough in January, he basically said this himself. Could have been very different 2/2 #mot

The key moment was @andrearadri and Cellino screwing Garry Monk over in the January transfer window.

Leeds have struggled in an attacking sense this campaign and have relied too heavily on striker Chris Wood.
The forward has been in sensational form and managed 28 goals across all competitions, but the next highest goalscorer is Souleymane Doukara with six.
Many fans feel that the Whites needed a strong January window to proper them to promotion and instead have seen their side fall just short.
