Leeds fans rage at Illan Meslier after penalty footage analysed
Leeds United fans were furious with goalkeeper Illan Meslier after his attempt to save a penalty during their 1-1 draw against Norwich.
The Whites left Carrow Road with a point after Largie Ramazani’s 60th-minute equaliser, bringing them back into the game after Josh Sargent’s penalty in the first half.
The result left Daniel Farke’s team in fourth ahead of their fixture against league leaders Sunderland this Friday (4 October).
However, Leeds fans felt that Meslier could have done better with his attempt to save the penalty.
Sargent’s shot appeared to go underneath the 24-year-old, was and lacked power or accuracy.
It was only the fifth goal that Leeds have conceded all season, but fans were quick to voice their opinion about their goalkeeper.

Meslier has been at Elland Road since 2020, but supporters felt his efforts in the penalty was “pathetic” as others questioned why he “turns up.”
