Leeds United fans have taken to social media to rage over the first half performance of young striker Jay-Roy Grot during the club’s FA Cup clash against Newport County on Sunday.
The Whites went in to half time 1-0 up thanks the Gaetano Berardi’s low strike from 30 yards, which was the Swiss international’s first ever goal for the club after over 100 appearances.
Thomas Christiansen’s men were threatened by the League Two side at times, with Berardi having to clear the ball off the line to deny an equaliser after a set piece caused havoc in the Leeds box.
However, despite going in ahead, fans still turned to Twitter to berate the display of 19-year-old Grot during the first 45 minutes, after he had been chosen by Christiansen to lead the line alongside Pierre-Michel Lasogga in a 4-4-2 formation.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Grot has a touch like a trampoline. Pitch doesn’t help either

Hate the way Grot runs and bounces around on his tip toes with his arms flapping every where not knowing where to be on the pitch

Grot's ability to misjudge the flight of the ball is incredible.

@PhilHayYEP I'm sorry but Lasogga and Grot have to be the worst front two we've ever played #lufc #mot

The striker was a summer signing from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, joining Lasogga and Caleb Ekuban as reinforcements brought in to bolster the attack.
However he has found himself down the pecking order at Elland Road this season, with the match against Newport his 15th appearance of the campaign in what was just his third start after two League Cup outings in the starting XI.
In other Leeds United news, Thomas Christiansen has dropped a major hint about potential striker signings this month.
