Leeds fans rave about first teamer after he scoops award (not Wood)

Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green was named the club’s player of the month – and the Whites supporters were thrilled with the decision on Twitter.

The 37-year-old the player of the month for March after helping the side go undefeated in their four games.

The veteran shot stopper kept two clean sheets in the month as Leeds beat Brighton and Birmingham, while also drawing against QPR and Fulhamm.

Green has continued his impressive form during April and been one of the standout players at Elland Road this season.

Leeds fans on social media were raving about the qualities of their number one and feel that he has been excellent this campaign.

Leeds completed the signing of free agent Green in the summer and the former England international has become the undisputed number one option under Garry Monk.

The goalkeeper has played in every minute of the Championship this season and kept an impressive 15 clean sheets in return.

He has had considerable help from his strong defensive backline, but has proved that he is still a top-class option.

Leeds suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Monday and it could have been more if Green had not pulled off a couple of fantastic saves.

The Yorkshire club slipped out of the play-offs as a result and now have just five fixtures remaining to force their way back in.
