'Would be amazing' - Leeds fans react after club installed favourites to sign goal machine
By Harry Sykes
Leeds United have been installed joint favourites to sign Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths this summer – and fans have reacted with mostly enthusiasm to the possibility.
According to the bookmakers, the Championship duo are a considerable way ahead of the chasing pack with Hibernian trailing at 12/1, while Newcastle, Brighton, Reading, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham, Bristol City and Preston are also priced at 14/1 to land the 12-time capped Scotland international.
Leeds fans are keen to see their club sign a player with the scoring track record of Griffiths, although some admitted they knew little about a player who has spent most of his career north of the border.

I’d take Leigh Griffiths at Leeds purely for the fact that we only need a backup striker to Wood. #LUFC

I can’t think of a thing about Lee Griffiths that I don’t hate. But I love Leeds. And if he scores goals, I’m sure I’d get over it ????

Griffiths has an outstanding scoring record for Celtic, netting 17 times in 37 matches this season following his incredible 40-goal haul from 51 games in 2015-16.
In total for Celtic, the Scot has scored 84 goals in 144 appearances, although his game time has been reduced this season after Moussa Dembele signed and was took over as the first-choice front man.
Griffiths was at Wolves from the summer of 2011 until January 2014 but he spent two of those campaigns on loan at Hibernian, where he scored 38 goals in 78 matches.
In 160 appearances for his different clubs in the Scottish Premiership alone, Griffiths has managed to return 93 goals and Garry Monk may be looking at the goal machine to add more firepower to his side alongside club talisman Chris Wood.
In other Leeds United transfer news, a deal worth multiple millions will be tired up by the Yorkshire giants next week and the fans will be over the moon.
