Leeds fans react on Twitter as Lewis Cook is reportedly poised for England call-up
By Danny Wright
Leeds United fans on Twitter are over the moon for Lewis Cook as he will reportedly earn his debut call-up to the senior England international side in the coming days.
Cook, 20, left Elland Road to sign for Bournemouth last summer and on Saturday, the Telegraph reported that he, Dominic Solanke and Angus Gunn will be added to the Three Lions squad ahead of their friendly clash against Brazil on Tuesday.
Gareth Southgate handed four players their international bows in the 0-0 draw with Germany on Friday night and looks poised to give more players the chance to prove themselves on the big stage against the South American giants.
Cook has always been held in high regard by the Elland Road faithful and everyone was gutted to see the promising midfielder leave West Yorkshire for the south coast last year for a fee that was thought to rise to up to £10million.
Naturally, fans on Twitter were pleased for the Bournemouth ace, with one saying Cook was the “best player at Leeds for a long time”.

Fantastic that Lewis Cook has been called up. Great experience for him. Still has some way to go but will be a regular very soon if he gets given enough chance at club level. #lufc #MOT https://t.co/Xx8VR7SQVd

Anyone with half a brain could see that Lewis Cook was definitely different class. Another feather in the cap for Cellino for selling him for peanuts. #lufc

Cook made 85 appearances for the Leeds first-team after emerging from their academy but has since found it hard to get that much football with Premier League side Bournemouth.
He has played just 15 times for the Cherries, with six of those appearances coming this term.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of this striker after his contract talks broke down.
