Leeds fans react to Jay-Roy Grot cameo in defeat against Millwall
By Richard Parks
Leeds United summer signing Jay-Ray Grot made his third appearance for the team in their 1-0 defeat to Millwall on Saturday – and fans on Twitter were critical of his performance.
Grot arrived at Elland Road last month after signing from Dutch club NEC for an initial £750,000 in a deal that could rise to £1.5million.
The 19-year-old is one of four strikers jostling for the centre-forward spot in the Leeds starting XI and missed out once again to deadline day signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga on Saturday afternoon.
Lasogga could not add to the two debut goals he scored for Leeds last weekend as they struggled to create chances against a solid Millwall team.
Teenage forward Grot came on as a replacement for Samuel Saiz after 72 minutes and supporters were impressed by his size but little else.

We’ve got big bulky strikers in Lasogga & Grot. Need to get it into them quick & give them a chance. #lufc

Hate to be critical of new players but Grot just looks like a lump doesn’t he? Don’t see him being first choice any time soon #LUFC

Leeds suffered their first defeat of the season from 10 matches in all competitions, eight of which have come in the Championship.
They remain top of the table, ahead of second-placed Wolves and Cardiff City in third only on goal difference.
