'Horrendously atrocious', 'Hasn't a clue' - Leeds fans rage at one Christiansen decision mainly v Cardiff

By Richard Parks
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their fury at Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s substitution with 16 minutes remaining of their defeat to Cardiff City on Saturday.
There were jeers from supporters at Elland Road on Saturday when the striker was hauled off by Thomas Christiansen and replaced by right-winger Hadi Sacko.
Leeds were 3-1 down and reduced to 10 men following Gaetano Berardi’s first-half sending-off when the manager took off Lasogga, who had scored twice in their 4-3 defeat to Millwall a fortnight earlier.
First half goals from Callum Paterson, Junior Hoilett and Sean Morrison helped Bluebirds cruise into a commanding lead and Anthony Pilkington made the result safe after Sol Bamba’s own goal briefly stirred Leeds.
Christiansen said afterwards he fully understood the frustration of the fans but insisted it was more to do with the scoreline than the substitution of Lasogga.

Supporters on social media subsequently took issue with the manager’s comments and insisted their anger was directed much more at the withdrawal of a player with the ability to bring their team back into the game.

The defeat leaves Leeds in 10th place in the Championship and now seven points off a play-off spot ahead of the trip to Sheffield United next weekend.
