Sweden international Pontus Jansson made his debut for Leeds on Tuesday night – and fans took to Twitter to reveal the first impression was a good one.
The 6ft 5in defender played alongside Ivory Coast international Sol Bamba during Leeds’ 1-0 EFL Cup second-round win against League Two minnows Luton Town.
The former Malmo centre-back went off with cramp in the 74th minute due to a lack of match fitness, with Liam Ciooper replacing him.
Leeds progressed to the third round thanks to a stunning strike by debutant left-back Tyler Denton, who curled the ball into the top corner from 20 yards with the outside of his left foot.
Fans were impressed with Jansson, who is on loan from Torino, with many highlighting his technical ability despite being so tall.

Looks like Jansson's stellar debut is over. Might just be cramp. Not a foot wrong. Cooper on. #lufc

I thought Jansson was very assured at the back, big unit and decent on the ball. Him and Bartley together could be very good.

Jansson moved to Italy from Swedish side Malmo in the summer of 2014 on a free transfer and he still has two years left on his current contract.
The defender built a name for himself in Sweden, where he starred in 89 fixtures and won three league titles as well as a domestic cup during his five-year stay.
In other Leeds news, the Whites are braced for a huge offer for this contract rebel.
