Leeds fans react on Twitter to Brighton win against Derby

By Amir Mir

Brighton beat Derby County 3-0 on Friday night in the Championship – and Leeds fans on Twitter were critical of the Rams.

Winger Anthony Knockaert opened the scoring for the home team when the Frenchman drilled his low shot from 20 yards after five minutes.

Sam Baldock then doubled his side’s lead two minutes before the break to give Chris Hughton’s men some breathing space.

However, Steve McLaren’s side failed to make any impact as they produced a lackluster display throughout the game mustering only three shots on goal.

Late into the second half, striker Glenn Murray made sure the points were sealed when he pounced on Scott Carson’s save from Knockheart’s fortunate cross.

Leeds fans on Twitter were critical of Derby, their manager and some of their players for their performances during the match.

Some felt that their slim hopes of finishing in the top two and securing an automatic spot is now over.

At this moment in time, the Whites are in fourth place in the table on 65 points from their 36 matches, 12 points behind second-placed Brighton who have played a game extra.

Garry Monk and his team will welcome QPR to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon as the Whites have the chance to close the game on their rivals with ten games of the season remaining.

Overall, the Leeds supporters slated Derby as they will now look to concentrate on their important weekend match.
