Leeds have completed the signing of Everton defender Matthew Pennington on loan – and the club’s supporters are delighted on Twitter with the deal.
The Whites confirmed on Tuesday that they have signed the centre-back on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old has been on the fringes of the Toffees squad and has now been sent out for his fourth loan.
He has previously spent time with Tranmere, Coventry and Walsall to help his development.
Pennington will now get the opportunity to impress in the Championship and will hope to cement a position in Thomas Christiansen’s starting line-up.
Leeds fans are thrilled about the capture of the Englishman and feel that he could make a big impact in Yorkshire.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

From the limited game time Pennington got last season I was actually suitably impressed to rate him as a future prospect, good signing #lufc

Leeds have been in desperate need of bolstering their defensive options, with Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper the only recognised centre-backs in their squad.
The Whites enjoyed the services of Kyle Bartley on loan from Swansea last season and fans will hope Pennington can fill the void he has left.
Pennington has amassed experience in League One and will now get his first taste of the Championship.
He made just three senior appearances for Everton during the past season, but that did include his first goal for the club in a Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
In other Leeds transfer news, they have made contact with their Championship rivals over their left-back.
