Leeds fans react on Twitter to Doukara starting v Burton

By Dominic Toner

Leeds attacker Souleymane Doukara was recalled to the starting line-up against Burton – and the majority of fans on Twitter are pleased to see him back in the team.

The 25-year-old divides opinion at Elland Road, but his six goals this season makes him the club’s second highest goalscorer behind Chris Wood.

Garry Monk has made three changes for the important Championship match against Burton and recalled Doukara, Ronaldo Vieira and Charlie Taylor to his side.

That means Alfonso Pedraza, Liam Bridcutt and Gaetano Berardi have been dropped from the side that lost 1-0 to Wolves in their last game.

The Yorkshire giants face a must-win game at the weekend away to Burton after slipping out of the play-offs recently.

The Whites are guaranteed a top six finish if they win their three remaining fixtures, meaning the Burton game has huge pressure on it.

Leeds fans are mainly pleased about Doukara earning a recall and the attacker will hope to prove any doubters wrong.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Doukara has come back into the side for Pedraza and is likely to operate on the left wing.

The attacker is not the conventional winger with trickery, but can hurt opponents with his pace and power.

He will hope to help ease the load on 28-goal forward Chris Wood and has shown in glimpses this season his quality in front of goal, including a thunderous volley against Nottingham Forest.

Monk has decided to hand Doukara a chance following the disappointing defeat to Wolves and he will hope to stake his place in the starting XI ahead of a potential play-off run.
