Leeds fans react on Twitter to Fulham beating Aston Villa

By Amir Mir

Fulham beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Craven Cottage on Easter Monday – and Leeds fans on Twitter have reacted to their promotion rivals overtaking them in the table.

Garry Monk’s side dropped out of the top six in the Championship after their costly home defeat against Wolves on the same day.

Nouha Dicko scored the only goal of the game as the Whites now face a stern challenge to try and finish in the play-off places with three matches of the season remaining.

Sixth-placed Fulham saw off ten-man Villa and are now level on points with Monk’s side in the table.

Fans on social media were not too worried by their rivals result because the London-based outfit will play fifth-placed Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season.

It means one of the two teams above them will not pick up maximum points from their remaining games which gives Leeds an opportunity to pounce.

If the Yorkshire club can win their last three matches then they will secure a top-six finish at the end of the season.

Their next encounter will be a tough away trip to free-scoring Burton Albion before they take on managerless Norwich on home soil as they will end the season with a trip to Wigan.

The Elland Road faithful pointed this out and were keen to back their manager after a fantastic debut campaign from the Englishman.
