Leeds fans react on Twitter to Green display v Sheffield Wednesday
By Dominic Toner
Rob Green helped his Leeds side beat Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon – and the club’s supporters were thrilled with his performance on Twitter.
The 37-year-old starred in the 1-0 home victory for the Whites as they moved up to fourth in the Championship table.
Chris Wood scored the decisive goal in the first-half as he sprung the offside trap, before calmly slotting away his 23rd goal of the season across all competitions.
However, goalkeeper Green pulled off a fantastic penalty save from Jordan Rhodes in the second-half, diving low to his left to tip the ball on to the past.
He has now kept 12 clean sheets this season and Garry Monk’s side have a nine-point cushion above the teams chasing a play-off place.
Leeds fans have highlighted the display of veteran goalkeeper Green and were delighted with his efforts.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Green has been the first-choice option in goal for Leeds this season and used all of his experience to help the team become promotion candidates.
The former England international has been promoted from the Championship before with West Ham and QPR in the past, something he would love to achieve at Elland Road.
The shot stopper has had his doubters during the course of the campaign due to his age, but proved he is still very much capable against Wednesday.
Leeds travel to Birmingham for their next match as they look to keep their momentum going.
