Leeds fans react on Twitter to Jansson display v Wolves
By Dominic Toner
Pontus Jansson delivered a strong performance against Wolves in the Championship – and the Leeds fans praised the defender on Twitter.
Leeds won 1-0 at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday and continued their climb up the table.
Forward Kemar Roofe netted the decisive goal in the 70th minute after he converted a pass from team-mate Hadi Sacko.
Jansson, 25, helped the Whites earn an important clean sheet and demonstrated his power at centre-back.
He was involved in a physical battle all match with the Wolves forwards and was able to continue after going down several times in the first-half, including picking up a blow to the head.
The result leaves Garry Monk’s side 10th in the table and they are now just three points adrift of the play-off positions.
Leeds supporters were impressed by the bravery from Jansson and believe he was outstanding against Wolves.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
On-loan Jansson has become a firm favourite at Elland Road since his arrival from Italian side Torino in the summer.
He has formed a strong partnership alongside Kyle Bartley in defence and the pair are Monk’s first-choice options.
The Swede has now made 10 appearances for the club and has helped them recover from a poor start to the season.
In other Leeds team news, their midfielder has revealed that he held talks with Monk.
