Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after the club reportedly opened talks to sign Swansea City centre-back Kyle Bartley.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim United are working on a deal to sign Bartley on a permanent deal following the huge impression he made while on loan last season.

It is said that Leeds hope to wrap up an early May deal for the 6ft 4in powerhouse after learning that Swansea will listen to offers for him if they avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Intriguingly, Bartley is open to a return to Elland Road despite signing a four-year contract with the Welsh outfit last August that runs until the summer of 2021.

The defender, 26, spent the first half of the season sidelined with a knee injury and has subsequently been on the fringes of the team, making 12 appearances in total in all competitions.
